2020 King Tides Project

In the Winter of 2020, Coastography Lab Members Ashlee Phelps and Ryan O'Sullivan worked with volunteer surfers to measure the impacts of extreme tides on wave quality: extreme high tides provide a window into the impacts of rising sea levels.

Thank you volunteers!

The goal of the King Tides Project is to use extreme tide events to better understand how our surf breaks might be affected by the impacts we have on our coastline.

We are grateful for the support and participation of the Surfrider Foundation Ventura Chapter and all the coverage from local news media.
